Beyond the area of garden that had already been developed, there was a piece of steep land that had lain unused for years. It was one of the sunniest and most private parts of the garden, which was able to fulfil many functions. In the summer of 2010 Gilmour Gardens built a raised pale wooden boardwalk & steps which lead down to a secret hidden deck where the owners can sit & enjoy breakfast and sun for a majority of the day. It meanders through a very colourful meadow of wildflowers, which is filled with scent and is a haven for wildlife. An orchard of apple, cherry and pear trees was also planted.
