The site is a very sunny back garden in Gullane - the clients here wanted a low maintenance space with a choice of seating areas and an area of lawn. They also asked for planting in raised beds as well as some small trees..

A patio is to be created in the sunniest part of the garden, leading straight from their french doors. It links with a path which allows access to the side of the house. A second smaller seating area is to be built in the corner, with a pergola and climbers scrambling up it, providing some extra shade.

A large raised planter will be built and lie parallel to the house. It will be planted with a variety of low shrubs and easy to care for perennials. There are steps up to the lawn which in turn leads to an area which is planted with a few small trees, adding more height to the garden. Plenty of low planting will be below these trees - it will be mulched with bark so as to keep it as low maintenance and weed free as possible.
